Majirel Boosters
Majirel Boosters are highly pigmented, permanent coloring creams designed to enhance, intensify, or better neutralize classic Majirel or Majirouge shades. They’re used as mix-in shades — depending on whether you want to add more warm reflect, or boost cool-toned neutralization. The range is intended for professional salon use only.
Benefits
- Highly concentrated pigments for adjusting the intensity and reflect of the final color
- Allow you to boost warm reflects (e.g., orange/red/magenta) or add cool neutralization (e.g., blue/green/violet)
- Compatible with Majirel and Majirouge colors
- Creamy texture for easy mixing and even application
- The new Majirel formula offers easier mixing and a reduced ammonia odor
Boosters work like concentrated “reflect regulators” — adding a small amount to your mix adjusts the final tone without changing the level of the color.
- They’re used in two directions:
- Warm Boosters: increase the richness of warm reflects.
- Cool Boosters: strengthen cool neutralization.
How to use
1. PREPARATION
Majirel Booster cannot be used on its own or mixed only with developer (oxidant). It must always be mixed first with a shade of Majirel / Majirouge, and only then the developer L’Oréal Professionnel Oxydant Cream is added.
FULL-HEAD COLOR SERVICE (boosting or neutralizing the tone)
Mixing ratio (shade + booster + developer): 0.25 + 0.75 + 1.5
For a full-head color service, mix:
- Majirel shade: at least 45 ml (≈ 3/4 of a tube)
- Majirel Booster cream: up to 15 ml (≈ 1/4 of a tube)
- Developer: 90 ml
Adjust the amount of booster according to the hair level and the intensity you want to achieve. The higher the booster proportion, the stronger the reflect or neutralization.
CONTRAST SERVICE (highlights on a dark base)
Mixing ratio (Base Contrast + booster + developer): 0.3 + 0.7 + 1.5
For contrast techniques on a dark base, mix:
- Base Contrast shade: 40 ml
- Majirel Booster Orange / Red / Magenta: 20 ml
- Developer: 90 ml
This service is designed for bold, high-impact color strands on dark hair.
2. APPLICATION & RINSING
- Apply the mixture with a brush to dry, unwashed hair.
- Start at the roots.
- Apply enough product to the roots to ensure the best possible grey coverage.
- Respect the processing time:
- 35 minutes
- exception: Majirel High Lift – 50 minutes
- Processing time is counted from the moment root application is finished.
- During processing, the mixture may change color — this is normal and does not affect the final result.
- After processing, gently emulsify the color for a few minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear.
- Shampoo with a color-care shampoo — L’Oréal Professionnel Metal Detox Shampoo is recommended.
3. GREY COVERAGE
FULL-HEAD COLOR SERVICE (boosting / neutralizing)
A) Boosting warm tones (Orange, Red)
- 0–50% grey: use the target shade + 1/4 tube of booster.
- 50–100% grey: increase the booster to 1/2 tube.
B) Neutralizing (Blue, Green, Violet)
- 0–50% grey*: use the target shade + 1/4 tube of booster.
- 50–100% grey:
- at the roots: mix the chosen shade with a fundamental (natural) or golden shade at the same level,
- through mid-lengths and ends: use the chosen shade + 1/4 tube of booster.
CONTRAST SERVICE (highlights on a dark base)
This service is not intended for covering white/grey hair — it does not cover greys.
